About This Treatment
Pigmentation care is a skin care treatment aimed at reducing the appearance of different types of spots, such as sun spots, melasma or post-acne marks, within a plan of several sessions. Because spots can have different causes, the process begins with identifying the spot type through a doctor's assessment. It may be considered for people with spots related to sun exposure, spots that may be linked to hormonal changes, or marks left after acne. Spots that are new or changing in shape, colour or size should first be examined separately by a doctor.
The plan is created according to skin type and spot type; in each session the skin is cleansed, care targeting the appearance of spots is applied, and the session ends with moisturising. Sun protection is part of the process: since sun exposure can make spots more visible again, regular use of sunscreen and avoiding direct sun are recommended during and after the sessions. Temporary redness or sensitivity may occur after the treatment. Results vary from person to person, and melasma in particular is a condition that can tend to recur.
