About This Treatment
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a non surgical cosmetic procedure in which specialized pigments matched to the skin tone are placed superficially into the scalp. Using micro dots, it aims to create the look of a closely shaved hairline or a sense of density between existing hairs; it may be an option for people bothered by hair loss, thinning, or the appearance of scars. Whether the procedure is suitable for an individual, along with scalp condition and expectations, is determined through assessment by a doctor or specialist.
The process is usually spread across several sessions; in each session the pigment density is built up gradually, with healing time left for the scalp between sessions. Mild redness or tenderness may occur after the procedure, and following the aftercare guidance provided by the specialist is expected. Because results can vary from person to person, follow-up checks and possible touch-up sessions over time are planned as part of the process.
